This tiny cottage in an historic Dorset village has been given renewed life with clever use of space and colour. The most crucial part of the renovation was maximizing light and space. Since there aren’t many cupboards here (meaning storing away lots of items isn’t an option), Viviene is now a firm believer in de-cluttering. Most importantly, she really thought about what furniture she actually needed, and ended up selling or giving away a lot of the pieces she had in her previous home. Much of it was just too big and would have overwhelmed the cottage. It’s surprising how little you really need to live comfortably.
